Limited Warranty — Stanley Products

What Does “Limited Warranty” Mean?

A Limited Warranty is the manufacturer’s commitment to repair or replace your product if it develops manufacturing defects within a specified period and under certain conditions. It is called “limited” because it only covers failures attributable to the manufacturing process. It does not cover damage caused by improper installation, misuse, modifications, accidents, or normal wear and tear.

At Lighting & Hardware, we stand behind your purchase. All Stanley and BLACK+DECKER products we sell—including electric generators, water heaters, fans, and other products in these product lines—are covered by a manufacturer’s limited warranty in accordance with the brands’ official guidelines.

Warranty Terms and Conditions

Coverage: This product is covered by a limited warranty of one (1) or two (2) years against manufacturing defects, beginning on the date of purchase. The warranty applies exclusively to quality, performance, or safety failures attributable to the manufacturing process.

What the Warranty Does NOT Cover

  • Improper or incomplete installation, or installation performed by unauthorized personnel.

  • Misuse, abuse, impacts, drops, or any use other than that specified in the user manual.

  • Modifications or repairs performed by unauthorized third parties.

  • Connection to voltages other than those specified in the user manual or on the product label.

  • Damage caused by power surges, voltage fluctuations, or failures in the customer’s electrical system.

  • Failure to perform the mandatory preventive maintenance specified by the manufacturer.

  • Normal wear and tear.

  • Claims submitted without the original invoice or proof of purchase.

Required Documents: A valid and legible original invoice or proof of purchase, together with a properly completed Warranty Certificate. If you do not have the invoice, you may request a reprint from the point of sale where the product was purchased.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

Step 1 — Gather Your Documents

Have your original invoice or proof of purchase and completed Warranty Certificate readily available.

Step 2 — Contact Us

Contact our Customer Service Department through any of the channels listed below and provide a description of the product’s failure or issue.

Step 3 — Service by an Authorized Service Center (ASC)

All diagnoses must be performed by an Authorized Service Center or by the authorized distributor from which the product was purchased.

  • Delivery to an Authorized Service Center: Portable electric generators and fans must be physically delivered to an Authorized Service Center. You may also bring the product and the required documents to our point of sale, and we will arrange for the product to be sent to the ASC.

Step 4 — Diagnosis and Resolution

Based on the technical diagnosis:

  • If the failure can be repaired, the ASC will replace the affected parts with new, genuine replacement parts and return the repaired product to you.

  • If the failure cannot be repaired, or if the repair exceeds the legally established time frame, a replacement will be arranged for a new product of the same model. If that model is unavailable, it will be replaced with an equivalent product from the same brand, subject to prior authorization from the manufacturer.
